Zygomatic implant is a method developed as an alternative to cases where there is very advanced bone resorption and it is not possible to make traditional implants. It is applied to patients whose upper jaw has never been implanted before.
The zygomatic implant offers a quick solution to long-term dental treatments.
Patients with severely fused maxillary bone and other symptoms do not have sufficient bone volume to place standard implants. Cheekbones are bones of sufficient strength and thickness for implant application.
Unlike traditional root-form implant applications, it is surgically placed on the zygoma (cheekbone) bone.
While normal implants are 8-10-12 mm long, the zygomatic implant varies between 30 and 50 mm and is longer than other dental implants.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia.
